Crisis: Executive Summary:
This research paper is based on a study carried
out jointly by Crosscare Housing and Welfare Information
(formerly CentreCare) and City Centre (Dublin) Citizens
Information Service. The purpose of the study was
to identify issues arising from the first six months
since changes to Rent Supplement eligibility rules
were introduced. The study’s data collection methods
are set out in Appendix One. The source of emerging
issues has been the experience of those who have
applied for Rent Supplement during this period.
Their experiences have been captured through:

qualitative survey of 51 clients of advice centres
- 40
client case studies collected and submitted by
advice centres
- 5
follow up interviews with advice centre clients.
